Dylan O’Brien faced serious injuries during the shooting of the third as well as the final installment of the Maze Runner trilogy. His injuries were so severe that it stalled production for almost a year. The actor was shooting an action set piece where he was hit by a stunt car. He was immediately taken to the hospital for a concussion, brain trauma and a facial fracture.
The actor later revealed that most of the right side of his face was broken during the accident. Four years have been already passed since the accident took place and now we’ll be seeing Dylan O’Brien back again on screen with a new action film focusing on an apocalyptic world – Love and Monsters. But the main question that persists is: Does the actor look at action sequences differently after experience severe injuries in the past?

He said that every time there’s an action scene that’s going to happen, there will always be a degree of anxiety in him that he thinks will never fade away. He now makes sure to check that his safety gear is functioning well and also is dealing with a few anxiety issues when it comes to shooting risky scenes. However, it’s good to know that Dylan O’Brien has successfully recovered from the rough incident.
He did mention how the entire accident affected him though. In his words, he said that he had neglected his friends who were so dear to him over the years and all of a sudden he felt the urge to nurture those wonderful relationships after the accident. He further added that the incident restructured the way he used to see his life and he used to deem important. Certainly, a wonderful transformation!
