It’s been one week since 4-year-old Maleah Davis went missing and her mother just made an “urgent statement” about her ex-fiancé.
ABC13 reports, no one has seen the little girl since her disappearance, but the girl’s mother, Brittany Bowens, is accusing the child’s stepdad of abuse. She also claims to have evidence that may help police fill in the blanks in the case.

As previously reported by Dearly, the child’s stepfather Darion Vence said he was attacked and kidnapped by three men, along with his two children, and later released.
However, the abductors allegedly never released Davis, and no one has seen her since.
Now, Bowens reportedly told police that she has surveillance video of Vence carrying suspicious items, which include bleach, a laundry basket, and inside the laundry basket a garbage bag, from the family’s home in Houston, Texas.
Anyone with information on Maleah’s whereabouts is urged to contact HPD Homicide at 713-308-3600 or @CrimeStopHOU at 713-222-TIPS. Media partners: all updates on this case will be disseminated here. #hounews pic.twitter.com/8F0PRPRgFN

According to officials, she never told authorities about the alleged history of abuse. However, Bowens told CNN on Friday that she believes Vence could be responsible for her child’s disappearance. She told the station:
“He hasn’t called me, I haven’t heard from him since Monday, I don’t know what’s going on.
If you’re innocent, why can’t you say it yourself? Why aren’t you defending yourself?”
Detectives have also found several discrepancies in Vence’s story and said his account of the alleged kidnapping just doesn’t add up.
