One man is dead and two other people were wounded Wednesday night during a triple shooting in Southeast D.C. where about 90 rounds were fired, D.C. police said.
A D.C. police official said he believed the deadly shooting involved multiple shooters in the 4300 block of 4th Street around 10:30 p.m.
“I guesstimate that is about 90 rounds,” said 7th District Cmdr. John Branch about how many rounds were fired.

Branch said that officers were flagged down about the shooting by neighbors.
In addition to the man who was pronounced dead at the scene, Branch said another man and a woman were transported to a hospital. Branch did not know their conditions when briefing reporters Wednesday night.
The shooting comes just hours after a pregnant woman was struck in the crossfire of an earlier shooting. Police said roughly 90 shots were fired in that shooting on Birney Place, just a couple of miles from Wednesday night’s shooting.
Branch said police are looking into the possibility the two shootings could be connected.
Anyone with information is asked to call the D.C. police at 202-727-9099 or text its tip line at 50411.
