A man’s awful attempt at a chat-up line has gone viral after his Tinder match took a screenshot and shared a video of it online.
Em Sumners @emsumners got a match with a guy named “Mikey” on the dating app and he fired her a message he thought would grab her attention.
It read: “Hey baby. Put down that cupcake and sprint to my house.”
Em was understandably puzzled and asked: “Cupcake? haha.”
Mikey dug himself further into his hole and messaged her: “You look like you hide cupcakes in your bedside table.”
Em said: “The f*** is that supposed to mean lmao?”
“It means you’re slightly obese,” said Mikey, prompting Em to block him without writing another word and post the cruel exchange on TikTok.
The clip was watched more than 3 million times on the video-sharing app and viewers were just as weirded out by his behaviour as Em.
One asked: “Do straight men even like women? Like, I genuinely ask that question every day.”
A second user joked: “Quickly ladies while he’s still single.”
“He’s going places, never a girl’s house, but places,” quipped someone else.
A third asked: “He’s the one who swiped right why is he acting like he doesn’t like you?”
Someone else commented: “He’s the type of guy to repeat a joke because nobody laughed the first time.”
Meanwhile, many users told Em she was “beautiful” and told her not to worry about the strange man.
And a man claimed he was on a Tinder date with a woman he was really “hitting it off with” when her husband joined them at the table.
He said the woman led him to believe she was single and turned “pale as a ghost” when she realised she had been caught.
