Two children who went missing in Missouri on November 9, their non-custodial mother was arrested for kidnapping her children. Avontay Reed, 7, and Kelvontae Cooper,5, were found safe and are in police custody, till the family services decide where they will be placed. Marshall, the children’s mother, and their father none of them had custody. Reed and Cooper were in their Aunt’s place due to “parental mental health conditions, drug use, and criminal conduct placing the children at risk”.
A day before when police apprehended Marshall, she claimed the existing custody isn’t valid. She also claimed that Cooper and Reed were being abused and had bruises. Marshall was charged with kidnapping, resisting arrest, driving with a revoked or suspended license. And with additional drug-related charges.
The boys are safe now and will be soon given to their respective caregiver.
