Two men were shot and killed in the Taraval neighborhood Wednesday, the San Francisco Police Department said.
Officers at the department’s Taraval Station received a report of a shooting Wednesday evening on the 200 block of Farallones Street and responded at roughly 6:12 p.m., according to the SFPD.
Officers found a 65-year-old man inside a vehicle on the street suffering from a gunshot wound, which investigators believe to be self-inflicted.
Investigators also learned that there was a second shooting victim inside a residence on the street, and found a 45-year-old man in the home who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man in the vehicle was taken to a local hospital where he later died due to the gunshot wound. As of Thursday morning, officials with the San Francisco Medical Examiner’s Office had not disclosed the identity of either victim.
SFPD officers are investigating the two deaths as a murder-suicide, according to the department, and asked members of the public to contact the department if they have information about the shootings.
