A Michigan couple is expected to be arraigned on Monday in the case of the murder of toddler twin, who were also facing child abuse charges when it came to their rough treatment of a 13-month-old baby, who was that child’s twin, according to the Detroit Free Press.
Zyaire Reed and his twin brother Zion were found seriously injured when Ecorse police responded to a report of child abuse on the 28th of July and due to the severe injuries, Zion was immediately taken to the hospital for treatment.
Lisa Marie Reed, 34, was arrested while her boyfriend was later caught at a relative’s home and was identified as James E. Gibson Jr., who was then charged with first degree child abuse. Additionally, Lisa Marie Reed was also arrested and charged with first degree child abuse as the case was apparently the worst case of child abuse, according to a police spokesman.
According to Inspector Timothy Sissak, one child was found having some trauma to the face, ears, and head area whereas the other child had been deceased. According to him, it is the worst case he has ever had. Zion then underwent surgery in order to repair his injuries and broken bones at Children’s Hospital.
According to the reports, Reed was manipulated by Gibson who used to often beat both the boys severely, not being the father of the twins whereas it is known that Reed was a high-functioning autistic mother to have.
