Luann de Lesseps said she felt the need to publicly apologize for her recent drunken antics because she wanted to do “the right thing.”
“I had a pretty good track record, but people slip. And like I said, I’m only human, and it happened,” she said on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen” Tuesday.
“That’s part of being responsible and moving on, picking yourself back up and doing the right thing.”
De Lesseps also felt it was “important” that she “own” her behavior.
“And you know, I had a party that night, for sure,” she added.
The “Real Housewives of New York City” star, 56, who claims she had been sober up until the incident, also emphasized that “people make mistakes.”
“I’m only human, and it’s progress, not perfection,” she said.

Page Six exclusively reported that the Bravolebrity was kicked out of gay piano bar Townhouse in New York City last week after she took over the mic to belt out tunes and told booing patrons, “F–k you.” The countess later denied being kicked out, claiming to us that she had been celebrating and left on her own accord.
The “Money Can’t Buy You Class” singer changed her tune days later, however, and issued an apology on Instagram.
“This week, after a regrettable incident, I was faced with the truth,” she began her statement on Instagram Saturday.
