Three weeks after sharing photos of the daughter they “only had for 20 weeks,” Joy-Anna Forsyth and her husband Austin are giving an update on how they are doing.
As Dearly previously reported, after announcing they were expecting their second child together on May 1, Joy-Anna and Austin took to Instagram on July 3 to tell their followers that they had, sadly, lost their unborn daughter.
As Joy wrote, they learned their daughter no longer had a heartbeat on June 26:
Today marks one week since we heard these words… “So this is your baby’s heart (pointing to the ultrasound screen). I don’t hear a heartbeat or see any movement.”
We had gone in for our 20-week ultrasound and gender reveal. It was a baby girl. Although we don’t understand why, God has given us unexplainable peace and comfort during this very difficult time. Yes, it still hurts and we have cried countless tears, but we know that we can trust the Lord.
The couple also revealed that they decided to name their late daughter, Annabell Elise.
Two days later, Joy and Austin took to Instagram again. This time they shared photos of Annabell after Joy had delivered her:
Now, Joy is opening up more about how she is feeling now that a month has passed.
The mom shared a photo of a bible verse that reads, “He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds. Psalm 147:3”
She then added, in part:
Our hearts are healing. Yes, those days come that I miss my little girl so much. Wishing I could have met her, seen Austin love on her and Gideon play with her. Yet, God has given us so much comfort.
People say that I am strong, but I am not. It is Jesus’ strength that has carried me through. He’s given me a peace that passes all understanding and he has given me His JOY. “No one ever cared for me like Jesus.”
Yet, while Joy doesn’t consider herself as strong during these difficult days, hundreds continue to praise the couple for their strength.
