A Hayward man suspected in two freeway shootings that left two people injured was arrested by California Highway Patrol officers Sunday.
Armando Perez, 24, is suspected of shooting and wounding someone in a pickup truck at about 11:45 a.m. in the westbound lanes of Interstate 580 just west of North Livermore Avenue near Livermore Sunday.
The victim was taken to Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley and treated for injuries that weren’t considered life threatening, according to the CHP.
Perez is also suspected of shooting and critically injuring someone about a half hour earlier on Interstate 205 near Interstate 5 in San Joaquin County, the CHP said in a news release Monday.
CHP officers arrested Perez on westbound I-580 near Strobridge Avenue in Castro Valley just before noon Sunday.
He was booked into Santa Rita Jail on suspicion of attempted murder, shooting at an occupied vehicle and assault with a deadly weapon, according to the CHP.
A motive for the shootings is still under investigation.
