A Florida mother and her boyfriend are facing child pornography charges after the mom’s children found disturbing messages and photos on her laptop.
According to the Orlando Sentinel, 38-year-old Katja Goen was instructed by her boyfriend, 42-year-old Trinetra Vaidya, to take photos of her 11- and 12-year-old daughters while they were changing or showering.
According to Fox 35, police said Goen followed the instructions of Vaidya, who is a doctor, in order to “sexually gratify him.”
Just last week, the mother took a photo of one of her daughters while she was showering. The police report read:
When she confronted her mother on the pictures, she felt her mother dismissed her concerns and advised she had already deleted it. [The child] felt concerned as Vaidya was spending the night that evening and she felt her mother showed him the nude picture.
One of the children eventually spotted child pornography of other children on the mom’s laptop and messages to Vaidya comparing the children to her daughters.
The daughters’ attorney, John Phillips, said the girls told a family member what they found. He told Fox 35:
“They were essentially the ones that told on mommy.”
Both Goen and Vaidya have since been arrested on child pornography charges. The mom is currently not allowed to have contact with her children. Their lawyer said:
“This is the worst thing I’ve seen in 25 years of practicing law. They found a 140 page history of what mommy was sending to her lover, this doctor. They read it and realized that there was stuff on there that involved them. And, the doctor wanted the 11 and 12 year old’s panties and the doctor wanted pictures of them in the show and in sexual positions.”
Vaidya has since been suspended from the medical staff at Villages Regional Medical Center.
