FOX 2 (WJBK) – Five suspects were arrested following an officer-involved shooting outside an Ulta Beauty at Village Place Mall Thursday night in Green Oaks Township.
Chief Steven Kramer of Green Oaks Township police said no suspects or officers were injured in the incident, which began with an organized retail fraud ploy at the Ulta store.
“Michigan State Police and Green Oaks officers were working on an organized retail fraud at which time there were shots fired,” Kramer said. “There is no injuries at this point. All the suspects are in custody. It occurred at about 8:10 p.m. tonight and we’re still investigating.”
The circumstances of the shooting and who fired the shots have not been released by investigators.
“I saw a woman running, obviously, and then a cop chasing after her,” said a witness. “Then I saw her drop a bag, probably kept running, then he Tazed him and she went down to the ground.”
A second witness said that he heard about five gunshots.
