Over two months after his ex-wife confirmed his unexplained disappearance, a United Airlines executive is still missing, telling 911 that “everything was not right.”
After the disappearance of 49-year-old Jake Cefolia, reported missing on Aug. 8 from his home in Elmhurst, Illinois, as reported by the WMAQ news channel, recordings of the 911 call in question were released this week.
Kristine Cefolia, who was formerly married to the United Airlines sales boss, said that I am filing a claim on a missing male.
Since Thursday, no one has seen him and he has not reached out to any family members at all.
She told dispatchers that he still did not turn up with their children for “his night.”
She told the dispatchers, I’ve got someone searching to see if he’s on a flight anywhere. Something is not right at all.
The outlet claimed that later collected surveillance video shows him loading his car with August 7 gas while wearing khakis, hiking boots, and a baseball hat.
Authorities found his car parked at the Waterfall Glen Forest Preserve in Lemont the next day, but there was no sign of him searching the trails where the executive used to run.
His phone and Apple watch were later discovered at his house.
At the moment of his death, the sales guru was under investigation, a law enforcement official told the outlet.
What the nature of the probe was or whether it played any part in its absence remains unknown.
The outlet noted, however, that police have not verified why he was being investigated and could not state why they think he left on his own could.
