The first execution of a female federal prisoner will be taking place in 70 years as the killer who strangled and murdered an expectant mother and then cut her newborn baby out of her womb is scheduled to go through the procedure of execution in December, according to the reports by the Daily Mail.
An inmate at US Penitentiary Terre Haute, Indiana, Lisa Montgomery, 43, will be put to death on December 8 by legal injection as announced by the authorities on Friday. The murder of a pregnant 23-year-old Bobbie Jo Stinnett had taken place in 2004 and since then Montgomery has been serving a death sentence. She had cut out her baby with a carving knife back then.
Montgomery had met Stinnett by pretending that she was interested in buying a dog while faking her won pregnancy. The two women then decided to meet at Stinnett’s Missouri home on December 16, 2004, where the strangulation happened followed by a murder, according to the investigators.
According to the authorities, the mother was frightfully alive when Montgomery kidnapped her child. Hours later, Stinnett’s mother found her body and then Montgomery was arrested with the child in hand as she was pretending all along that she was hers. After her arrest, the baby was then returned to her father and thankfully she is leading a good life today at the age of 16.
