During an interview with VH1, Lee said:
“Half the time I’ve been on probation without going to prison. Half the time I was put on probation but I was still a badass. I still would violate probation,” she said. “I wouldn’t do community service, so [I] guess that you get booked again and [then] you got a whole new mugshot.”
Fans reacted to the news on social media sharing their thoughts on the line between discipline and abuse.
One Instagram user wrote:
She getting 54 years for disciplining kids and you wonder why kids soft these days!
While another shared a different opinion:
My mom gave me whoppings but in no way shape or form did she cross the line into street fighting. There’s no way she grabbed me by my hair and dragged me anywhere! Or slammed me up against stuff! That’s extreme and Tommie has anger issues that she projects onto her daughter. If she does that in public at school in front of people, what has she done to her daughter at home with no one around? Y’all crazy too for defending this
While she’s popularly known for her alcoholism and wild confrontations, she has shared some of her proud mommy moments in the past.
Lee and her camp have not yet commented on the charges.
However, Complex reports that the star will no longer be returning to LHHATL.
