Judge Brown ordered each count to run consecutively, for a total of 723 years in the Department of Corrections.”
The crimes were first reported in 2007 after a school support officer saw an injury to one of the kid’s necks, the Tuscaloosa News reported. But prosecutors didn’t resume the case until years later when the victims were in their 20s and prepared to testify, the outlets reported.
District Attorney Scott Anderson celebrated the mom’s sentence, saying she “deserved every day of it.” “Justice has been served,” he added in a statement obtained by news station WIAT.
Assistant District Attorney Courtney Schellack also stated prosecutors were “thrilled” with the result of Lisa’s case. “The victims suffered for years living with these monsters, and have suffered with the consequences of their actions for over a decade,” she said. “The sentence, in this case, was well deserved, and gives the victims a sense of closure,” she added.
