Five men suspected of plotting to abduct Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer are scheduled for hearing on whether they should be held before facing trial in Federal court on Tuesday.
The five men, Adam Fox, Ty Garbin, Kaleb Franks, Daniel Harris and Brandon Caserta are set to appear before the US Magistrate Judge, Sally Berens in Grand Rapids while the sixth suspect, Barry Croft is being held in Delaware.
The suspects, who had in mind to retaliate against Whitmer over her autocratic weild of power in the midst of the Corona virus pandemic, had conducted coordinated surveillance of the governor’s vacation home in August and September, authorities said.
One of the suspects who was identified as one of the leaders, Fox, was living in the basement area of a vacuum shop in Grand Rapids whose owner confirmed the suspect’s opposition to wearing mask and kept firearms and ammo at the store.
In other news, there are about seven men who are directly involved with a shadowy paramilitary group called the Wolver Watchmen accused in the state court for allegedly seeking to invade the state Capitol and providing material support for terrorist acts by seeking a “civil war”.
The seven suspects, Shawn Fix, 38, Eric Molitor, 36, Pete Musico, 42, Joseph Morrison, 26, Michael Null, 38, and Paul Bellar, 21, in addition with the five men were all arrested in the plot.
