Two Houston police officers were shot at an apartment complex in the Texas city on Tuesday, with the gunman later barricading himself at the scene, according to police and reports.
“We have had two officers struck by gunfire,” Police Chief Art Acevedo said on Twitter. “Please pray! More to follow.”
Acevedo later tweeted that the suspected had been taken into custody “without further incident,” and said there will be a press briefing later in the day to provide details.
The shooting, on the 2600 block of Holly Hall and El Mundo, was reported around 9:30 a.m., with an initial report that at least one cop has down, ABC13-TV reported.
Houston police said on Twitter that a SWAT team was dispatched to the area for “a possible barricaded suspect.”
