Seattle police report that when officers were inside, a perpetrator set a police car on fire Thursday afternoon.
At around 1:30 p.m., an officer in his patrol car was in an alley near Dexter Avenue and John Lane. Looking for a man who, according to investigators, was believed to have brandished a burning piece of timber.
When the officer saw the man, while the officer was still inside, he hurled the burning wood into the patrol car, the police said. The fires surrounded the police car.
The man was pursued into a nearby parking garage by other police who rushed to the scene, where they used a taser and brought the man into custody.
The police said it is suspected that during the incident, an officer shot a pistol, but no one was injured.
One cop, with a non-life-threatening injury, was admitted to the hospital.
The Force Investigative Unit of the Seattle Police Department is conducting interviews and collecting information from the scene.
Details were not readily known on the perpetrator.
