A couple in Seattle was shot by a drive-by shooter at their house and think they were attacked because of their pro-police banner.
Last Friday, the gunman pulled up in a dark SUV and squeezed off nine rounds, striking the couple’s home and car six times, local news station KIRO posted.
The pair, grandparents who have lived for 30 years in the north Seattle area, told the station that they think they were attacked because they were flying a “thin blue line” flag outside their home.
Everyone has, and we are entitled to, an opinion. You don’t shoot me for it! “Grandma told the news channel about it.
Her husband said that several times people have come to their home to complain about the banner.
According to the report, a vandal once scrawled “ACAB” in spray paint in front of their house, short for “all cops are bastards.”
The police warned the couple to take down the flag to ensure their safety, KIRO said to the woman.
As much as we appreciate your support, the police have said we’re telling our families not to fly, she said.
