Anja Ringgren Loven from Denmark is a social worker. While she was on one of her trips to Nigeria met a little boy. She took pictures from the boy and publish them on Facebook, trying to raise some awareness.
The boy was abandon by its parents because they thought the boy is a witch. The boy was left on by himself, and his condition was terrifying when the Danish social worker found him.
After 8 months of wandering around, Anja provided proper care and medical assistance. She even called him Hope as soon as she published the photos.
Initially the chances to survive were little, but luckily he manages to fight for his life. His health condition is improved, he is happy and healthier.
She publishes a new photo and wrote:
“The day I carried this sweet little boy in my arms for the very first time I was so sure he would not survive. Every breath he took was a struggle and I did not want him to die with a name, without dignity, so I named him Hope. Hope to me is a special name. Not only the meaning of Hope, but what it stands for. Many years ago I got the name HOPE tattooed on my fingers because to me it means: Help One Person Everyday.”
