Siler City Police Department said in a statement that “several razor blades were located under the right hand side of several ‘buggy’ handles” on Sunday.
At least six blades were discovered after two shoppers were hurt by the razors, according to CBS Local.
Authorities are currently searching for two men they believe to be responsible for hiding the razors on the carts.

One man was described as a “white male that appear to be in his 30’s, thin build and brown hair; this person was seen driving a tan, late model Chevrolet Suburban or late model GMC SUV.”
The other was described as a “white male that appears to be in his 30’s, medium build, brown hair, thick heavy beard with light mustache. This subject was last seen wearing a bright yellow hat, Blue t-shirt with MoPar logo on front, a dark jacket, dark pants and work boots.”
Police said the razors may “may be related to an attempt to shoplift.” And this isn’t the only Walmart location that’s faced the problem.
Similar incidents occurred at Walmarts in 2016 and again in 2018, according to AJC.
the 2016 incident, in which an Oklahoma mother injured her hand, Walmart released a statement:
“We’re dumbfounded that someone would do this in our store; this is appalling. We have checked all of our shopping carts and are continuing regular checks. Additionally, we are reviewing our surveillance footage in the hopes of identifying who did this so we can alert police and prevent this from happening elsewhere.”
Walmart officials said that the razors are used to cut tags off their merchandise.
Siler City police warned shoppers to “be cautious at all stores” because the men hiding razors “could go to any store with buggies.”
