On September 20, three Savannah, Georgia HEAT officers pulled over a car that didn’t have any license plates.
Inside the car, they discovered a set of 1-year-old twins that weren’t strapped into their car seats properly. As the department’s official Facebook page revealed, the children weren’t in their usual car seats because they had been stolen, along with the vehicle’s license plates.
The department explained:
When inspecting the child seats, we found them to not have any harnesses installed. The mother was only 21 years old and had her original vehicle stolen recently, hence the no license plate. She had also just started a new job.
And that’s when the officers who made the traffic stop did what they could to help the young mother and bought her new car seats for her children.

As the department wrote on Facebook, while Cpl. Bland went to buy the car seats, APO Neumann and APO Daniels entertained the children as they waited:
In the end the mother drove away with a completely different outlook on police and two brand new seats.
The story was originally shared by APO Neumann’s wife, who says they are expecting their first child together. The proud wife admitted that seeing her husband interact with the twins made her so excited to see Neumann be a father to their unborn baby girl.
She wrote:
“This dad-to-be melts my heart. He helped this little boy’s mama get a new car seat and was obsessed with him! He said this is my new friend. I can’t wait to see how he is with our daughter, so proud of him”
And hundreds more continued to praise the three officers for their big hearts.
Some wrote in the comments section:
This is news! Thank you to this officer for showing the world what humanity and the proud blue represents!
You know things only go wrong when good men sit back and do nothing, but these wonderful people put the challenge and gave it a beautiful ending.
This is such a sweet picture. Restores faith in the man in blue to our younger generation.
Beautiful.
