PA attempted-murder suspect involved in yesterday’s Frederick Co. police shootout is ID’d

FREDERICK, MD (WBFF) – A man wanted for an attempted murder in Pennsylvania, who was involved in a deadly police chase and shootout in Frederick County yesterday, is being held without bond.

The Frederick County State’s Attorney’s office identified the suspect as David Robert Leatherman, 42, of Hanover, Pa.

He is one of two suspects in the shooting from yesterday. Frederick County Sheriff’s Office said law enforcement shot and killed the other suspect, after the two suspects fired at law enforcement in two separate incidents, during a chase through Emmitsburg.

rederick County State’s Attorney J. Charles Smith III said Leatherman is a suspect in an attempted murder in Pennsylvania, and will be held without bond at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center pending extradition to Pennsylvania.

The State’s Attorney’s office will be independently evaluating the police use of deadly force and will release a report.
