A mom of three who admitted to videotaping herself sexually abusing her baby girl has been sentenced to 25 years in federal prison. Jerrica Lackey sent videos and photos of herself assaulting her 16-month-old daughter to her boyfriend before her ex-husband discovered the shocking images.
The mom from Oklahoma admitted to sexually abusing the infant during a 911 call and has since been convicted of sexual exploitation of a child. She has also been ordered to serve 120 months of post-custody supervision after her prison term.
The crime was discovered when Lackey’s ex-husband was borrowing her phone and opened the Kik app. There, he found footage and pictures of the mom sexually abusing her own baby girl and sending it to her new boyfriend in Florida. He immediately confronted her, which led her to call 911. While on the phone with dispatchers, she admitted to filming the sexually explicit videos.
“To see a parent perpetrate a crime like this is tough to investigate, it’s hard for all of us to understand,” Casey Roebuck with the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office told News On 6.
Lackey told investigators that she would either record herself molesting the baby or set up live feeds on her smartphone to appease the man she began dating after meeting him online. She said her long-distance boyfriend would “punish” her if she neglected to send videos.
Lackey agreed to a plea deal and pleaded guilty to sexually abusing a child under the age of 12. As part of their agreement, prosecutors then dismissed one count of distribution of child pornography and one count of possession of child porn. Lackey still faces six related counts of sexual abuse of a child in Tulsa County District Court.
Child Protective Services found that 80 percent of child sexual abuse perpetrators are the victim’s parent and only 9 percent are female.
