A mixed-race little girl has started rubbing talcum powder on her cheeks to make herself white after a ‘bully’ allegedly told her to ‘bleach herself’. Jodie Ward, 27, from Hull in Yorkshire, says daughter Ayesha Ali, 6, is desperate to have lighter skin after she was ‘racially abused’ at school. She has accused staff at Dorchester Primary School in Bransholme of turning a ‘blind eye’ to the situation and plans to move Ayesha and her other children Rayaan, 4, and Ethan, 2, to another school. A school spokesperson has insisted all concerns raised by parents are ‘thoroughly investigated’.
Mum-of-three Jodie said: ‘I am absolutely fuming because she tries to put talc on herself, she now thinks she has to be white, that’s not the case. My daughter is beautiful. ‘She’s very upset, she begs me and cries not to go to school. I am going to take my children out of the school when I get a chance, but I am not taking her out of education as it’s not her fault. ‘I spoke to her teacher on the door, she said they would investigate it. Then I phoned up and she turned around and said she had this trouble with her children and said it’s one of those things. ‘It has just gone on and on with excuses after excuses. In my eyes, they are turning a blind eye to it and haven’t stepped up. They were oblivious to it. They don’t seem bothered.’ The little girl is desperate to be white after being ‘bullied’ (Picture: MEN) Mum Jodie Ward, 27, claims staff at Dorchester Primary School in Bransholme, Hull, has not taken her concerns seriously (Picture: Hull Daily Mail / MEN Media) Jodie claims the headteacher told her the child accused of bullying Ayesha has ‘problems at home’ – but says this is no excuse. She said: ‘I’m not bothered about that, [name of child] is bullying my daughter. Everyone has problems at home. ‘School is not doing a thing about it and I am just disgusted. They are trying to protect this other pupil, but I don’t know why.
‘She’s been there since she was at nursery and is now in year one and has never had any problems before. I’ve lost all faith in the school.’ The mum has contacted Humberside Police, but officers told her the alleged incident is a school issue as it happened on school grounds. A spokesperson for Dorchester Primary School said: ‘The school is unable to comment on individual cases, however, the safety and well-being of all pupils within the school is paramount and underpins everything we do. ‘When concerns are raised about any aspect of school these are always thoroughly investigated with appropriate actions implemented if needed.’
