On Friday, in Louisiana, a former police officer was arrested with charges pertaining to physical assault.
28 years-old Casey Hoffman is at present facing the charges of two counts of producing porn involving juveniles under 13, three counts of first-degree rape of a juvenile under 13, and seven counts of possession of pornography involving juveniles under 13, says Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry.
Landry said in his statement, “My Cyber Crime Unit and I are committed to investigating and arresting those who exploit our children, no matter their professions or positions.” He further added, “Crimes against children are some of the most heinous acts imaginable, and they are even more despicable when perpetrated by people in authority who are supposed to be protecting kids.”
According to Landry, the investigation met the combined effort of his office along with Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office, Homeland Security Investigations, Louisiana Bureau of Investigation, and the Kaplan Police Department.
Chief Josh Hardy of Kalpana Police Department in his statement delivered to KATC said that “He was arrested yesterday and he no longer works for my department.”
Both Hardy and Landry did not reveal how long Hoffman gave his service to the department or what initiated the investigation.
Hoffman’s Facebook page reveals that in May 2019, he joined Kalpana Police Department as a K9 officer and served as a K9 trainer.
According to the jail records, Hoffman is being held at Vermillion Parish with his bond set at $950,000.
