A 2014 interview with “Fuller House” star Lori Loughlin is now being seen in a new light amid allegations that she bribed her children’s way into the University of Southern California.
The 54-year-old was arrested last week as part of “Operation Varsity Blues,” a large-scale investigation that uncovered a $25 million college admissions scheme, Dearly reported.
Loughlin and her husband, fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli, allegedly paid up to $500,000 in order to have their daughters accepted to USC as crew recruits, despite having no experience.
Their arrest led to major fallout for the actress and her children — something the mom never wanted to happen.
In a resurfaced interview, Loughlin told Christian Broadcasting Network she hoped her choices wouldn’t negatively affect her kids, according to Fox News.
Loughlin explained that’s why she was careful with choosing roles:
“For me personally, I was always very thoughtful about projects that I chose for myself. I would say to myselfCan my father watch this?’ If my father couldn’t watch it, I didn’t do it.”
She added:
“And then when I had children I always thoughtI don’t want to do anything that one day might rear its ugly head and my children have to pay the price for that.’”
Loughlin’s daughter, 19-year-old Olivia Jade Giannulli, had a large following on social media and was attending USC when the scandal broke.
News of her involvement with the admissions scheme angered fans and caused her to lose endorsement deals with big name brands like Sephora and TRESemmé.

It’s unclear if Loughlin’s other daughter, Isabella Rose Giannulli, was enrolled at USC.
Loughlin has been freed on a $1 million bond, but she’s also faced major fallout from the scandal.
The actress was dropped by Hallmark Channel, where she was a regular. She’s also been cut from Netflix’s “Full House” reboot, “Fuller House.”
According to People, Loughlin and her family are currently “laying low” at their Los Angeles mansion until her and her husband’s court dates next week.
