Jenelle Evans’ husband called the police this week after he alleged that his mother-in-law, Barbara Evans, locked his 2-year-old daughter in a room by herself.
David Eason told the dispatcher that Barbara put his child in the locked bedroom so that she could have a few minutes to shower, TMZ reports.
She then couldn’t get the door open again, which caused little Ensley to panic. Eason said on the call:
“My mother-in-law has locked my 2-year-old child in the bedroom so she could take a shower. And now, she can’t get the door open and my child is freaking out.”
Eason wasn’t in the home and told the police that he was getting the information from his stepson, 9-year-old Jace.
The reality star also asked he if could get child protective services involved and was told he’d have to speak to the responding police. It’s unclear if he ever did report the incident.
The grandmother was eventually able to get the door open.
However, this isn’t the first time the couple called police on Barbara.
Jenelle previously called for a welfare check after she heard her children screaming through the phone during a call with her mom, TMZ reports.
Barbara has temporary custody of Jenelle’s two children after Eason shot and killed Jenelle’s French bulldog because it nipped at his 2-year-old.
Jenelle previously confirmed the incident:
“David killed my dog Nugget because he snapped at my 2-year-old, Ensley. He doesn’t put up with that and those are his beliefs. He just took her and shot her in the woods … about two acres away from the house.”
A judge ruled that the couple must take parenting classes and undergo drug testing before they can regain custody.
Jenelle’s third child, 4-year-old Kaiser, is in the custody of his father, Nathan Griffith.
It’s unclear when Jenelle and David will head back to court.
