Homeless Vet With No Friends Or Family Passes, But Wait Till You See Who Shows Up To Say Goodbye

This is a sad story with a beautiful ending.

Society tends to let people slip through the cracks. We ignore that homeless man on the corner, assuming he’s an addict needing his fix. We might toss him a coin or two, but we don’t stop and strike up a conversation with him. We rarely take a closer look at the man behind the haggard face or dirty clothes.

But one man did. Now, finally, a man so many had passed over received the acknowledgment and thanks he’d earned over forty years ago.

Sergeant John Beard of St. Louis served in the Air Force in the Vietnam War from 1968 until 1971. He earned four medals of honor for his service to our country.

After returning to the U.S., though, Beard didn’t adjust well to civilian life, a fate which sadly affects many veterans of all wars. Beard ended up homeless. Sadly, he also ended up suffering from stage four brain and lung cancer.

At 67-years-old, Sergeant John Beard passed away with no friends or family at his side. Before his death, though, Beard met Calvin Whitaker, owner of Michel Funeral Home in St. Louis.

Whitaker believed, as we do, that when military personnel or veterans die, they deserve the right to have a funeral where they are given full military honors. He decided he needed to do something to ensure the decorated veteran – who had struggled so after years of selfless service – would never be forgotten.

The funeral home gave Beard a funeral free of charge. The ceremony also included full military honors.

But then something even more amazing happened. News stations shared the story and dozens of strangers and members of the community lined the road and saluted as the military parade passed. Beard received an escort from the Patriot Guard to Jefferson Barracks. The weary soldier was then taken to his final resting place.

Beard may not have been surrounded by family or loved ones during his life, death, or funeral, but he was finally honored by a community who came out to support a man society had ignored and forgotten.

Selflessness rewards selflessness, and Beard’s actions eventually came full circle. It took decades to happen; but in the end, we’re certain Beard was looking down, giving a salute.

Iran’s ‘Zombie Angelina Jolie’ lookalike is jailed for 10 years after sharing creepy pictures online

Sahar Tabar posted creepy pictures of herself onlineThe woman, whose real name is Fatemeh Khishvand, became known on social media after sharing distorted pictures of herself in which she looked like the zombie version of Angelina Jolie.

She gained an Instagram following and was arrested last year.

Tabar was charged with corruption of young people and disrespect for the Islamic Republic, The Guardian reports.

She used make-up and Photohop to post the pictures online, which she claimed she did “as a joke”.

Tabar also denied reports that she had carried out surgery to look like Angelina Jolie.

The 19-year-old said: “This is Photoshop and makeup. Every time I publish a photo, I paint my face in an increasingly funny way.

“It is a way of expressing yourself, a kind of art. My fans know that this is not my real face.

“I did not even think about being like Jolie. Also, I did not want to resemble the cartoon character the Corpse Bride.”

In April this year she begged for freedom after contracting coronavirus, but the US-based Centre for Human Rights in Iran said that a request for bail was denied by a judge.

Human rights lawyer Payam Derafshan said: “We find it unacceptable that this young woman has now caught the coronavirus in these circumstances while her detention order has been extended during all this time in jail.”

Iranian journalist Masih Alinejad said Tabar’s mum “cries every day to get her innocent daughter freed”.

She also called on Angelina Jolie to intervene and help the young woman to be freed.

In a separate video, the journalist said: “The Islamic Republic has a history of tormenting women.

“We need to be united against this gender apartheid.”

Following her arrest last year, Tabar was interviewed on state television and expressed regret over the posts, though many felt she had been coerced into the appearance.

She said: “My mother was telling me to stop, but I didn’t listen.

“Sometimes the words of a stranger or a friend can be more important than those of a parent.”

Campaigners have called on Angelina Jolie to help Tabar be freed

Baby Boy Surprises Whole Family With Rare 1 in 48 Million Birth

When Kyrsten Moreno found out she was pregnant, her and her family did all they could to prepare for their little one’s arrival.

It may have seemed like a usual pregnancy, but Grandma Nadine Hugmeyer had a feeling something special was going to occur. When baby Aiden was still inside the uterus, Nadine told him that he needed to hold on for his mom’s birthday to continue a family pattern that now borders on the ridiculous.

You see, it wasn’t just mom Kyrsten whose birthday Aiden’s would coincide with. It was his grandma’s as well, meaning that three generations from the same family share the same birthday.

Diane Leonard, who works for Amita Health, was present at Aiden’s delivery and said she had never heard of it happening before. Staff at the hospital sang the trio “Happy Birthday”, while Grandma Nadine told CBS 2: “I think it was meant to be.”

It goes without saying that it’s a rather unique set of events. Mom Kyrsten says it “had to be on purpose”. All we know is that the rest of the family must be groaning as they check their wallets; three birthdays on the same day is likely to get rather expensive.

God bless them!
