The mother of a 10-year-old child found an entry in her diary that allegedly laid out details of molestation and led the cops to arrest a Georgia man.
Reports say that the mother filed a police report against David Lee Kinnison, 46, for molesting her child. Kinnison is a resident of Newnan, said Casey Mullis, the Investigator with the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office. The arrest affidavit said the victim was a 10-year-old.
Allegedly, Kinnison took the victim to another room inside his own home and molested the child there. The victim, whose identity has not been revealed in order to protect them, put down the incident in great detail in the diary entry. This prompted the police to question Kinnison. They ultimately detained him and the victim went through a forensics interview.
Kinnison, who made a first appearance at a hearing on Monday, is being charged with aggravated child molestation. Added to this is a kidnapping charge since he allegedly took the child to a separate room.
According to the Georgia Gazette, the accused was arrested once before, earlier this year, on charges of child cruelty and battery. After that, his wife filed for divorce.
The investigation is still ongoing. The details about the nature of the relationship between the victim and the accused have not been released.
Kinnison is in jail without bond for the time being.
This is a developing story and all details are not available to the public yet.
