Parenting is often like riding a roller coaster. There are days when the parents are so sure about what they are doing and then there are days when they have absolutely no idea! There are days when the parents feel that they have understood their children well and then there are days when they have their doubts! God knows that every family needs a bit of sunshine to lighten and brighten up the lives of people and so he sends tiny bundles of joy, tiny powerhouses in the form of children. A mom posts the funniest letter she received from her tiny bundle of joy when he had been in his summer camp and we can’t help but laugh at the innocence of the little boy!
When there are children at home you would know how unpredictable they can be. When they are still too young to even move around, they still have their antics and adorable encounters. And then comes the phase of tantrums. After that, there is no turning back. Every new year as the child grows, it turns out to be a whole new surprise for the parents and for the children as well. Though parents do teach a lot of things for their children, children to have a lot to teach adults- the simple art of living instead of merely surviving can be learned from little ones. The awe for even the most mundane objects, their brutal honesty and their unmatchable innocence can all be felt when there is a little child around. And, every parent has a million funny incidents to reminisce and laugh about even after the child grows up. Here is one such hilarious story of a mother who was all excited about her son’s first ever summer camp.
This mother was sure that she was going to miss her song when he went away to camp, but she also knew that it would be fun to write to him and to get letters from him. She imagined this and made a mental picture of how things would probably be. She even worded a sample letter of how she thought her son would write to her, about how he was enjoying the trip and how he was learning lots of new things. But when she got the original letter from her son, she found it inexplicably funny and so she took to social media to post the letters so the other parents could read them and have a good laugh as well. Indeed, it strikes every parent hard that children can sometimes be so funny, to extents one can never expect! And, it is their tiny little imperfections that make them so happy and so much different from adults.
Liesel’s little boy was 8 years old. He had not been away from his mother for a long time. There was a summer camp which he was to attend, this was going to be the first ever time that the mother and the son spent so many days away from each other. Liesel, like most other moms, was both excited and nervous. She did not know what to expect and she wasn’t sure how her son was going to cope. At first, it was very difficult. In fact soon after Liesel dropped the child off at the camp she felt like she was already missing him. It grew more difficult without him around and she sometimes even walked to his bedroom at night so that she could simply feel like he was around. As she started missing him badly, she started writing letters to him. She wrote a letter every single day and waited at the door for receiving at least one in return from her son, in vain. She was pretty upset and she then imagined what her son would have written if he actually wrote her a letter-
Dear mom,
Thank you so much for letting me go to camp. I have learned so many cool things, like how to take a fish off the hook, tie sailing knots, and how to groom a horse. Thanks for packing sun screen. I’ve been out on the lake a lot, so it’s really come in handy. You think of everything! I’ve been drinking tons of water since it’s so hot. See? I do listen to all your good advice.
The other boys in my cabin are really smart and nice. I’m making lifelong friends I will cherish forever. We’ve had fun learning camp songs, playing cards and catching frogs in our free time. During quiet time, I read the book you sent along. What a great selection!
Like you suggested, I’m tying a lot of new foods. You were right, the oatmeal at breakfast isn’t bad if I add raisins. And don’t worry, Mom, I’m using all the manners you’ve taught me over the years.
We’re camping under the stars tonight. I hope to see fireflies.
I love you,
W
xxoo
P.S. Tell my brothers I miss them!
But as it is evident at the first sight, the letter is simply too good to be true! And with kids, you really never know what is really going to happen next. The mom did receive this special letter from her son the very next day, only it was not perfect in every angle without spelling and grammar flaws. It was simply like a letter from a typical 8-year old boy who was having a blast from the summer camp. Read the letter to find out yourself what is so unique about it and to really get a gist of why kids are always said to be “handful”! Even if you are having a hard day, the boy’s letter is sure to crack you up!
Share this story with your friends who are moms to give them something to laugh at today!
